Unfortunately, no, but here are things you can try!

1. Dip the tips of your fingers (and over your nails) into acetone nail polish remover several times, letting it dry each time before dipping again. The taste is so disgusting (makes me gag) that it should set you back on your nibbling.

2. Go to Walmart, Target, K-Mart, Walgreens, Boots or whatever local pharmacy you have around and pick up some fake glue on nails. Glue them on well. They’ll look so beautiful and are so dang hard to bite through that you should stop right then and there.

3. Get acrylic nails. This is a debated suggestion, and there have been complaints that acylics damage the natural nails. They only do, however, if they are badly removed. Otherwise, you should be fine.

4. Try the snap-your-wrist method. Put a rubber band on your left wrist and snap it every time you catch yourself biting your nails. This is also debatable considering that most people don’t do it and continue biting their nails.

5. Chew gum. Constantly pop stick after stick into your mouth and chew. Just keeping yourself busy chewing is not only great for stimulating your brain (seriously!) but it will keep your hands out of your mouth.

6. Wear latex gloves around the house. Certainly not the most practical, but it’s pretty effective. When it gets unbearably annoying, take ‘em off, but promise yourself you’re not gonna bite any longer!

7. Let yourself nibble. And nibble. And bite. And rip. And then admire the results. Think of what your nails could be and what they are now. It’s all about willpower.

my mom bought me this gross tasting nail polish and it helped a bit. also put on fake nails. it makes you feel more confident about ur appearance.

Question by sound: Does anyone have a cure for biting nails into the quick? I have very thin fingernails and…?
…they split a lot.
I use nail hardening creams and also have tried numerous nail polishes. Stopped the nail polish a couple of months ago, and now the nail biting has resumed. Any suggestions?

Eating gelatin is right for the nails. And keep using polish, anything from clear to black.
