STOP N GROW – its stuff you paint on your nails and it tastes bad so it stops you from biting them.
I dont know what country you live in.. but i’m from Australia.

If you can’t find it in your country.. it’ll most likely be on Ebay or on another site.
    It works though! :)

i have the same problem, its just something people do. if you bite them to far(which i did…) they will only grow to a certain length.

I used to do the same thing from a young age up until I was 27 (I;m now 30) None of the stuff you can buy like nail varnishes which taste horrible etc work so no point even trying them – its habit and you just have to break it yourself

All I did was realise that what I was doing was disgusting and my hands looked horrible – I actually became embarrassed to show my hands and always hid them from people.

I tried to find out why I actual bit them – and mine was out of boredom. Therefore when I felt bored I made sure I made myself busy, as my nails grew then I realised how nice they looked and now 3 years down the line I have pretty nice nails (It took me about 3months and then I totally forgot I ever bit my nails before!)

It is difficult but be persistant and you’ll get there

Yeah, lemon juice would work, it would also take the yellow color out if you use a lot and scrub, but I would dip them in regular old nail polish remover. It tastes disgusting. lol. Or, my friend who bites her nails all the time paints them because she wouldn’t want the chips of paint to come off in her mouth or anything.

since its winter then mittens would be okay
always having your hands busy with something else
    sucking on hard candy.
theres stuff that you can put on your nails thats clear and it tastes bad (didnt work for me at all!)
put band-aids on your fingertips lol, but it looks weird.
theres a lot of things you can do, but it also depends on WHY you bite you nails. Boredom, nervousness, lots of things can make you bite your nails. try lots of things, youll find something that helps! good luck!

    Hey,
I used to be the same as you – I had been biting my nails for as long as I could remember. I tried that disgusting nail polish and it didn’t seem to work for me. I found that it wore off throughout the day and I also hated it when I went to eat something and licked my fingers. I also tried painting my nails a pretty colour to stop myself but somehow my finger always ended up in my mouth.

So, you want to know how I stopped it? I made a bet with my dad that I could stop biting my nails by christmas (9 months time). This really motivated me as I didn’t want to lose $100 (which was the cost of the bet) so I managed to stop biting my nails for a week. Once they grew longer I bought myself a home french manicure kit. They looked so pretty and I kept touching them up every few days and I watched them grow before my eyes. It was amazing. Once I saw how pretty they looked I never bit them again.

I also did this with my friend. We quit biting our nails together. One holiday, my friend said to me, ‘Beth, I’m going to stop biting my nails and so are you. When I see you at school after the holidays, you better have long nails’. That also motivated me, so give that a try too.

A few weeks before I started this I would never have believed that I would stop biting my nails, but here I am, typing this advice to you with my long nails. So anything is possible. Don’t give up, just keep trying. You’ll get there.

I hope I helped and good luck xox

The easiest way, and the way that I stopped biting, is by chewing gum all the time. It’s hard to bite anything else when gum is in your mouth.

Also think of all the places that you’ve touched, like toilets, other people, or whatever. Even after washing your hands, some of the dirt and germs are probably stuck in your fingernails. If you think about that, you don’t really want to put your nails in your mouth anymore.

cheap and simpple way to stop. go to kroger or grocery store and buy some nail polish top coat. apply it to the tips of your fingernails so it doesnt look like you have any nail polish on(its clear). It tastes gross and its cheap.just buy the really low end brand. the taste goes away really fast but it keeps you from biting. I broke my habit that way.
